This weekend at a Supernatural convention panel in New Jersey, Misha Collins’ Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles – himself no stranger to the world of the Batman with voice roles as both Batman and the Red Hood in the past – expressed interest in playing a certain caped crusader while on a panel with Mr. Collins.
To be fair, they were asked who they’d like to play on one another’s projects, but Ackles didn’t hesitate before saying his choice.
“Batman: Let’s me clear about that. I’ve gotten to do the voice… why not get to play the Bat?” Ackles said during the show panel. “Maybe someone at Gotham Knights can put in a good word for me, if that role ever comes up,” he added, alluding to Misha Collins.
As we’ve seen in pictures, there has been a “Bruce Wayne” on set, and it might not fit the timeline for it to have been Ackles, as he has been in New Orleans overseeing filming of The Winchesters prequel pilot. Jensen’s words did get some attention from fans, though, and as the photo with this article proves, he has put on the tights before. He also has supposedly had a mystery DC project going on with Greg Berlanti…. while this might not be it, it would be really cool if Gotham Knights actually is the mystery project, eh?
Even if Jensen Ackles does not end up playing Bruce Wayne or Batman in Gotham Knights, perhaps the door will be open for him to direct, as he is in The CW system and recently helmed a Walker episode starring his other Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki.
You can see video of Jensen’s answer below. HUGE thanks to @rainbowstiel and @Narwalcat for sharing!
