It’s May, and principal filming for the Gotham Knights TV pilot has completed… and now, many might wonder the next big question: “When will we know if Gotham Knights is picked up to series?”
The CW will make their big “Upfronts” presentation – which could possibly even include a trailer for the show – on Thursday, May 19. But, often times series orders can come a week beforehand, which could mean we’ll know as early as this week. (May 19 is also where we will most likely learn The CW’s Fall 2022 schedule.)
Working in Gotham Knights’ favor (though surely disappointing many) is that The CW has canceled DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman; the network’s new direction in light of a possible sale may have required fewer DC shows, which means their ending could mean better chances for a Gotham Knights pickup.
The pilot seems to have good buzz, as do the network’s other two pilots for this year, Walker: Independence and Supernatural prequel The Winchesters. It’s possible that all three could be picked up as full series.
We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know anything – hopefully you’re already following @GothamSite on Twitter!
